Kids in Bloom Deysbrook Village Centre provides breakfast, afterschool and holiday clubs in the West Derby area of Liverpool. Children from St Pauls and St Timothies and St Marys attend all services provided. Holiday club is accessable to children form any school. The setting for our clubs are based in the Deysbrook area of West Derby very close to Tesco Deysbrook. Children are taken and collected by mini bus to school. Children enjoy structured and free play both indoors and out. We have high expectations of our children and they are encouraged to do as much for themselves as possible. We provide self service breakfast and snack , children are consulted on planning, outings and even the snack we provide.
We have a well lit 225m2 outdoor play area with artificial grass giving children the freedom to play outdoors all weathers all times of the year. We have excellent links with both local schools and support both schools learning through planning, observation and assessment via partnership working.
At deysbrook we love to have fun, staff get just as involved as the children do. We spend lots of time outside in our huge garden, we play group games like rounders, football and skipping. We also like to build our very own dens, and go bug hunting… we even have a bug hospital!
Our holiday clubs open from 8am-5.50pm Monday to Friday every school holiday period excluding bank holidays.
Periods including October half term, Christmas, February half term, Easter, Witt & Summer
This can add up to 14 weeks per year.
Kids in Bloom provide breakfast and afternoon snack throughout the day. We ask parents to provide a healthy packed lunch. We also ask parents to provide a water proof jacket and sun cream.
Our aim is for the children to attend 3 outings per week. These outings range from trips to the local park, watching a movie in the cinema, ten pin bowling, a trip to local museams and also trips theme parks such as Gullivers World,Warrington plus other places of interest like Apple Jacks farm,Acorn farm,Underwater street,Airborn academy and Awesome walls climbing centre.
The 2 days we spend in however are just as entertaining with a mix of structured adult led and child led play on offer. For example at Witt half term 2016 the children attending a bug hunt with park rangers at Court Hey Park. The next day the children took part in making bug hotels with staff at the setting.
